Product Introduction

Natural Black and Gold Marble for Interior Projects

Port Laurent has a varied vein pattern, ranging from fine gold lines to broader white movement. The balance of background colour, white veins and gold detailing changes from slab to slab. Selecting the actual slabs is important for feature walls, large tabletops and surfaces with visible joints.

The material works with timber, metal and light interior finishes. Polished surfaces highlight the contrast between the dark background and veining. A honed finish offers a less reflective appearance and should be reviewed on a sample before ordering.

Suitable Applications

Application What to confirm
Interior feature walls and reception cladding Vein direction, panel layout, seams and installation details
Bathroom walls and vanity tops Basin openings, exposed edges, surface finish and care requirements
Coffee tables, dining tops and console tops Finished dimensions, edge construction, support and vein placement
Hotel and retail interior details Approved slab selection, matching requirements and piece identification

For kitchen worktops or other surfaces exposed to acidic liquids, review marble care requirements before specifying the material.

Slab Selection and Vein Layout

For an accurate material approval, request:

  • Full-slab photographs with slab numbers and the available quantity.
  • Measured dimensions, finished thickness and any areas affecting cutting yield.
  • Details of surface treatment, backing and any repairs present.
  • A proposed layout where bookmatching or coordinated vein movement is required.

Sequential slabs can be reviewed for matched layouts where available. The selected pair, surface finish and panel orientation should be approved before cutting. A small sample helps assess material and finish; the full-slab photographs establish the wider vein pattern.

Custom Fabrication Options

  • Cut-to-size wall panels, vanity tops and furniture tops.
  • Edge profiles, visible-edge finishing and mitred construction to drawings.
  • Sink openings, faucet holes and other required machining.
  • Bookmatch or vein-matching review for selected slab sets.
  • Piece numbering and project packing requirements.
  • Send dimensioned drawings for fabricated pieces, including exposed edges, cutouts and joint positions.
  • Material yield and vein placement are reviewed together with the cutting plan.

Care and Surface Expectations

Port Laurent should be specified with normal marble care in mind. Acidic liquids can etch the surface, and daily use can leave scratches or wear. Use a neutral stone cleaner, remove spills promptly and protect furniture surfaces with coasters and mats.

A suitable penetrating sealer can improve stain resistance. It does not prevent acid etching. Confirm the care routine and any treatment requirements for the intended application.

Inspection, Packing and Quotation

Agree inspection requirements for slab identification, dimensions, thickness, finish, edge condition and any treatments or repairs. For fabricated orders, include machining dimensions, joint details and piece labels.

Packing is planned for full slabs or finished pieces, with protective separation and suitable supports. The shipping plan should state bundle or crate quantities and gross weights.

Pricing depends on the selected slabs, thickness, finish, usable cutting area, matching requirements, order quantity and fabrication scope. Provide the quantity, required thickness, finish, drawings where applicable, destination port and preferred delivery terms for a quotation.

FAQ

nero port laurent marble

01. Where does Port Laurent marble come from?

Port Laurent is a natural marble sourced from Morocco. Its characteristic appearance combines a dark brown to black background with gold and white veins. Yalitong Stone supplies and fabricates the material in China for export orders.

02. What slab sizes and thicknesses can I order?

Please specify 18 mm, 28 mm or another required finished thickness. Availability is confirmed for the selected batch. Slab dimensions vary, so request the current slab list with measured length, height, thickness and usable area before planning your cuts.

03. Can Port Laurent slabs be supplied for bookmatching?

Matched layouts can be reviewed where suitable sequential slabs are available. Request photographs of the proposed slabs together and approve the arrangement before cutting. The match depends on the actual vein pattern and is confirmed for the selected set.

04. Is Port Laurent suitable for kitchen and bathroom countertops?

It can be fabricated into countertops, but marble requires care around acidic liquids and daily wear. Bathroom vanity tops should also follow an appropriate cleaning routine. For a busy kitchen, discuss maintenance expectations and alternative stone options before final selection.

05. Does sealing prevent stains and etching?

A suitable penetrating sealer improves resistance to absorption and staining, but it does not make marble stain-proof or protect against acid etching. Clean spills promptly and follow the sealer manufacturer's instructions for the selected stone and finish.

06. What are the MOQ, sample arrangements and lead time?

These are confirmed for the selected material and order scope. Advise the slab quantity or cutting list, required finish and destination. Samples can be reviewed for availability and courier charges; material preparation, fabrication and packing determine the production schedule.
